| Biodiversity Restoration Project at Pine Grove Furnace State Park |

The Pennsylvania Parks and Forest Foundation managed a grant project on behalf of the Friends of Pine Grove Furnace State Park that helped protect a historical area within Pine Grove Furnace State Park by implementing invasive species control methods. Partnering with the park, Boyer Nursery, the Central Pennsylvania Conservancy, and the Michaux Forest Association, the Friends of Pine Grove manually removed invasive species from the Furnace Stack historical area in the park and planted native plants. Additionally, partners designed and installed an educational kiosk with information about the project, invasive species, and the value of preserving biodiversity.
