Healthy Adams County
| South Mountain Food Security Symposium |
In conjunction with Capital RC&D and Wilson College, Healthy Adams County designed and implemented a food security symposium on “Closing the Food Gap” in the South Mountain region. The symposium enabled participants with tools to address the accessibility of sufficient, safe, and nutritious food within their own communities, and helped build a network of organizations, agencies, and institutions to take on food security issues across the landscape. This network has coalesced into the South Central Pennsylvania Food System Alliance, which quarterly convenes to discuss the status of the food system in this region.
