A predictive model will be developed for the locations of historic and prehistoric cultural features in the Carbaugh Run Natural Area of Michaux State Forest. After this predictive model has been tested for Carbaugh Run, it will be used to predict cultural features more broadly across South Mountain. Known historic and prehistoric cultural features found at Carbaugh Run will be used to create a predicted cultural features map and dataset for areas surrounding Carbaugh Run. Field surveys will be used to determine and improve its accuracy and precision.
