Friends of South Mountain Partnership

The Friends of the South Mountain Partnership (FOSMP) works to conserve agricultural, cultural/historical, natural, and recreational landscape resources to enrich the quality of life and sense of place for citizens and communities in the Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, and York counties of Pennsylvania. To ensure the South Mountain Partnership is a resilient and powerful force for good in our region, your support is a key step toward building a resilient and long-lasting presence in the region.

Vision of South Mountain

Imagine a place where vibrant communities draw strength from their natural assets to sustain their quality of life. A place where citizens care about protecting the special qualities of a region – their region. A place where people and partners band together to envision a better economic future, tackle shared challenges and care for the natural, scenic, and recreational resources that define the place they call home.  Make Our Vision Our Future by giving to the Friends of South Mountain Partnership.

The Mission of Friends of South Mountain Partnership is to provide resources to support the work of the South Mountain Partnership. Our Friends Group secures tax deductible donations from individuals and businesses to ensure the South Mountain Partnership is a resilient and powerful force for good in our region.

The first and only consistent source of funding for the South Mountain Partnership came from the Environmental Stewardship Fund through Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. However, the fund is consistently threatened and, due to recent current events, this traditional source of funding may be redirected elsewhere. To ensure the South Mountain Partnership is a resilient and powerful force for good in our region, this Friends Group is the first step toward building a resilient and long-lasting presence in the region.

Through our partnership with The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC), the Friends of South Mountain Partnership will for the first time:

  • accept federally tax deductible donations
  • formalize a corporate sponsorship program
  • gain administrative support for our trademark annual events like our Spring Partnership Meeting, Fall Partnership Meeting, Annual “Power of the Partnership” Celebration, and other events like the Speakers Series and workshops
