| Camp Michaux Recognition and Development |

The Cumberland County Historical Society, in partnership with Michaux State Forest, oversaw an effort to continue the development of the Camp Michaux historical site while simultaneously working to have its significance formally recognized. Camp Michaux is an historical site within Michaux that was built as Civilian Conservation Corp camp before serving as a secret P.O.W. interrogation center during World War II. This project included opening trails throughout the camp and clearing individual sites from overgrown vegetation; a self-guided walking tour guidebook likewise was produced and keyed to numbered posts installed throughout the camp. Finally, project resulted in the installation of an official State Historical Marker for the camp.
