The Pennsylvania Land Trust Association is pleased to be working with Tykee James, Environmental Leadership Program senior fellow and organizer of #BlackBirdersWeek to convene a panel of trails and recreation professionals, GIS users, and outdoor enthusiasts to discuss topics of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice and Access as related to recreational trails in Pennsylvania. Panelists will share their unique perspective on the social, physical and cultural barriers to trail access that trail planners and managers need to consider when programming and communicating about their trails. A short presentation by each panelist will be followed by a moderated Q&A, and time for break-out rooms to further explore these issues. Participants should come prepared to learn and share ideas, challenges and success stories. This is a safe space to share thoughts and feelings related to issues connected to the current civil unrest.
