November 17 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Wednesday, November 17, 2021 12:00 PM –  1:00 PM ET

During Native and Indigenous People’s Heritage Month, Conservation Voters of PA wants to honor and learn about one of the indigenous tribes that reside in Pennsylvania: the Lenape. Lenapehoking means the place where Lenape come from, which spans from eastern Pennsylvania and the Hudson Valley to Delaware, with Manhattan at its center.

Join us for a conversation with Adam Waterbear DePaul, a member of Tribal Council and Storykeeper of the Lenape Nation of PA. Adam will provide an overview of the history of the Lenape people, discuss the Lenape’s pathway to state recognition, and also talk about how conservation and environmental stewardship plays a role the Lenape culture. He’ll also be touching upon their contemporary environmental initiatives, including their upcoming Rising Nation River Journey in 2022. Sign up to receive the link and call-in information to join us!
