Staff from the Bureau of Forestry will discuss upgrades to their camping reservation system for motorized camping sites. Changes include adding these sites to the current DCNR online reservation system and charging a nominal fee to enable site management and future planning of camping areas for the bureau. In addition, this new system allows the bureau to accept credit cards for the camping reservations as well as the bureau’s many permits such as firewood or ATV pilot permits. The updated format will provide state forest users with more efficient processing and real-time information on campsite facilities.
DCNR staff will also provide updates on the ATV Regional Trail Connector Pilot, DCNR’s new Next Gen Council, and plans for a stakeholder engagement process around Pennsylvania’s outdoor recreation sector this fall.
The May 25 public meeting will be held in person at the Rachel Carson State Office Building, Room 105, 400 Market Street, Harrisburg (masks are encouraged for visitors but not required). There is also an option to join the meeting virtually via WebEx by clicking here to register.
