The 2016 Pennsylvania Historical Association Annual Meeting will be held October 6-8 at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.

The conference will include an exciting selection of panel presentations dealing with all aspects of the state and region’s history from the 17th to the 21st centuries.  We will also have an exciting line up of plenary sessions and guest speakers focusing on this year’s theme of “Technology, Business and the Environment,” including a Thursday night premiere of the new documentary Mira Lloyd Dock: A Beautiful Crusade and a Saturday luncheon talk by Dr. Silas Chamberlin, Executive Director of the Schuylkill River National Heritage Area and author of the forthcoming book, On the Trail: A History of American Hiking (Yale University Press, 2016).  Our Friday night reception and banquet will be hosted by the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center and will feature Dr. Michael Neiberg, the Henry L. Stimson Chair and Professor of History at the U.S. Army War College.  We are also pleased to continue our tradition of sponsoring a student research poster session to foster the next generation of Pennsylvania history scholars.  More information about the conference will be available through the following website by mid-summer:  https://sites.google.com/site/pha2016meeting/.
