Partners create unique learning opportunities for local youth

Through most of the month of May, local elementary-aged students in the Carlisle Area School District are taking field trips to various stream-side learning stations to learn about stream ecosystems. Diana Dellinger, district conservationist with the Natural Resources Conservation Service and member of the South Mountain Partnership’s Leadership Committee, is one of the educators helping to ensure the students develop a rich understanding of how streams and rivers are interconnected, and even further, how the land that surrounds the streams and rivers impacts the water. The effort is a collaborative effort between the Carlisle Area School District and Audubon Pennsylvania, and an article highlighting the program can be read here.
