The Carlisle Iron Works Furnace Stack, located along the Appalachian Trail and Children’s Lake in historic Boiling Springs, is a prominent reminder of the iron industry and its impact in shaping the South Mountain landscape. This project will enable the township, which recently acquired the stack, to complete a professional engineering study to assess the current condition of the stack and develop a scope of work for a comprehensive restoration project to be completed in the coming years.
