| Community Supported Forests Booklet |

The Central Pennsylvania Conservancy collaborated with Penn State University and DCNR to compile and publish the South Mountain Community Supported Forests booklet. The booklet is a guide to all things wood-related, including where to buy local furniture, wood pellets, timber frames, and more. Starting as a survey of local forest businesses, the booklet compiles information about these businesses into one location and is designed to understand the condition and needs of local businesses, make connections between land owners and these businesses, and help inform and promote a buy local forest products program.

The South Mountain landscape’s scenic woodlands and ridges define the character of the landscape and are critical to our quality of life. Abundant, clean water, un-fragmented habit for wildlife and diverse recreational opportunities are all enjoyed in our forested landscape. This guide is designed to be resource of consumers interested in supporting our local wood-related economy as a means of keeping our working forests healthy, beautiful and productive.
